Default Need advice: best way to dispose of SC300

First off: I am not selling anything from this post. Do not ask.

I have a 92 SC300 that is just not worth it to me to repair. Rear bearings are shot, AC doesn't work, driver door panel in pieces, now water pump is leaking enough that I can't drive it very far.

Seeking advice as to the best or typical way to get rid of a SC300 in this condition. Part it out? Try to sell it as is? Advice is what I'm looking for.

Thanks.

Those things you mentioned are not that bad to repair at all but since the SC isnt worth it too you, you can part it out, sell it as is, Auto yards even pay for non running cars give them a call, or give it too charity.

Think the best way is too sell it as is for 1000 obo

Id say that depends on your goal. Do you want a small chunk of money to buy another car? If youre thinking to part it out that entails a lot of work. You'd have to set aside a lot of time to dismantle the car, answer PM's, ship stuff out in a fair and timely manner etc. Best bet is to sell as-is on craigslist locally to you. On that note, post some pics, maybe someone here is interested..

That being said, those things could all be fixed for under $500 in parts if you fixed/labored yourself. Then the car would be in a more marketable position to sell at much more.

Some SC's are much more rare or worth the hassle than others.

I don't advise you do it, but it just reminded me of a crazy old dude on my street where I used to live that was talking about getting rid of his car for an insurance check. He said "insure it well and send it to hell". Lol.....

Post pictures of it and we could tell you more. Symptoms you posted above are worth fixing in my book. Good luck. I may even drive up there and get it. LOL

I started a thread a few days ago and included a couple of pictures but the moderators deleted it because they thought I was starting a "for sale" thread and that must not be allowed in this forum.
That's why I started by saying I'm not selling anything.

Thanks for the advice so far. Don't know that I want a car carcass in my drive way for months while it slowly disappears,. Ain't nobody got time for that!

I may limp it down to a shop and get a diagnosis. I"m not into being a mechanic right now.

If you can't fix what's wrong, I highly doubt you'll be able to pull it apart to part it out...if you are capable of pulling it apart in that fashion spend 500 bucks and fix it...far less hassle.

Either 1. sell to Mark (1JZPWRD) 2. Get 600 from a junk yard, 3. Sell for 1k as is or 4. sell to me! lol

I would advise you to sell as is...it is worth around 1k to people like me and Mark. (right? )

Seems like a waste IMO to junk it though...

parting it out (takes lots of work, time, frustration) will get you the most money, selling it will get you the next most money, probably then selling it to the picknpull or whatever your local yard/dismantler is
