Default Trying to decide what I should pay for this 97 SC4

A white 97 sc400 is up for sale and I am trying to decide what I should pay for it. Mileage is unknown but assume it is average for this year so probably 165k or so I'd guess. I'm looking it over and it has an aftermarket Nav head unit, but stock with the 97 chromies.

I don't want to get starry eye'd when I get down there tomorrow so I am trying to make a reasonable assumption of value. Obviously I know what to look for and what it will cost if that part is bad or worn, so I'm trying to just get a baseline value of a white 97 SC4 with tan interior, average miles and nice exterior. Stock.

I haver a price in my head. What say you? I have to drive a total of 155 miles one way to check it out so if it is game when I get there, it's coming with me.

Keep in mind the price difference in the states. In NM, it seems as if there is 2 1/2 SC's to choose from and when there are some, they are expensive. Better off buying one out of state lol.

Though, if mileage is about 170k, I'd say 4-5k depending on where you live. JMO though...GL on your decision.

I would say $5,500 sounds good to me.

I've kinda of lost the will to drive 300+ miles today so I think I'm going to skip the car, but I WAS looking at this one.

People in nm don't have money...just takes .a little negotiating and I got mine for 1600. Then a month later one went up for 1500.

Maybe the owner doesn't realize the 97+ sc is worth it's weight in gold?

For 5 to 6 k. I would only buy a 98 and up sc400. Be patient and willing to travel.

JMO but

I would stay away from this car, there are no less than 10 different ads for this car. One is dated 3/28 IAO $3500.

If you can't sell this car quickly in ATL, something is wrong!

just my opinion
