But i know nothing about it, and i couldnt find much in the forum related to the 400 with the 460 projectors. do they fit well how hard is it? what extra parts would i need. Would like to kno before i buy them. 170 for each headlight. Thanks guys

I dont know what all this job entails, but I am sure with a lot of patience and time, anything can be done. I know someone who spent over 2K on getting their tail lights redid with all LEDS. I say money and effort well spent. You know who you are. If you are asking my opinion, I say get them and try to do a DIY thread on here. This will be a live and learn type deal. Be the guinea pig here on this idea.

Reason it hasn't been done is because the LS460 projector is too big to fit in the SC housing. I did a TSX retrofit on my old SC and it BARELY fit, still had to do some shaving and cutting here and there to make it fit and aim properly. This has nothing to do with how much money you're willing to spend, but more about not having the physical space to do it. I equate it to fitting 18" tires on a 20" wheel, not gonna happen. The TSX and TT projectors are similar in size which is why they both work, the S2000 projector fits with little modification as well.

They are an old design and for halogen bulbs. These cars were among the first to ever have projector headlights and the field has improved greatly in the 20 years since. You can put a HID bulb in them and it helps but it doesn't hold a candle to a true HID projector.
The LS430 and 460 have some of the best projectors ever made. The difference between them and the SC's projector are literally night and day.

thanks for the feedback you guys are great!!
but yea my concern is the size but if you know for a fact that it wont fit. then i wont pursue it. i was just interested in it because i been in a 430 and 460 and i saw how much they light up the road lol. but for sure there isnt enough space in the housing?

not saying that it will be impossible, but it will be nearly as makes no difference. With the size of projectors, not to mention the motors, you'd be lucky to stick them inside the SCs small housing. But you might be able to get away by cutting the lens and modifying the projector housing to have the LS lens sit nicely. But then again, seems to be too much trouble for something that is arguably only a marginal improvement.

I retrofitted BMW X5 projectors and bought pre made aluminum adapters from a forum member. It was a pretty straight forward easy install and the adjusters work properly like stock. You're better off buying just the projectors and adapter plates you need to do the job vs reinventing the wheel.

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/ is the best avenue for making stuff work imho. I used the Morimoto Mini's on a motorcycle build and the TSX style ones on another car build. you can get a full retrofit kit for about the same price as some of our local junk yards sell the housings for.
