Default Timing Issue/ thinking about doing egr delete

hey guys i keep on having fellow sc guys tell me my timing is off after they drive my 400. theres a slight misfire on startup, and with the ac off it idles at the second tick mark above 0. with it on it looks to be idling at 800. the guy beforeme did the timing belt himself but i do not think he adjusted the timing to factory specs. im also wondering if its affecting my mpg also. with city driving i get 181 on one half and with high way i get 192 on a half. I have the BFI, (Just Airbox cut out) how can you check the timing on these cars, and do you have to remove the whole timing belt to adjust the timing? The guy also supposbly did the spark plugs and wire also

EGR Delete. My egr pipe is cracked and the sound of the flutter in the cabin annoys the crap out of me. i researched on here that the egr delete allows the car to run cooler. but i kno also that the egr helps with mpg. in you guys experience with the delete, did it help your mpg or lower it. and did it lower it significantly.

Thanks guys!
