Wrecked!

This really sucks. You put a lot of work into your car, especially that kickin' supercharger setup. I've reread that thread so many times. I'm sorry this happened to you man, but I'm glad you're okay.

1st - Thanks for all the good words guys!
2nd - Got the car back and insurance is paying me 2600 still.
3rd - Some pictures.
and, already looking for a new one. MIGHT go with an LS as I have 3 kids and never really should have bought an SC to start with, LOL. I was looking at the red car pictured but it's a 96 which won't work for me due to the fact the it would need to pass a state emissions inspection every year, I need an OBD1 car.

That's bad luck KC, all ways liked your car and that you were willing to push it on the track. Don't get that red one, there must be plenty of good early ones in the states for sale. How about an early GS300 with a 1UZ conversion.

Man that sucks, glad you're okay though Khris.
So insurance will total it for XX amount of dollars. They will go by a book they have at the estimated value. Some insurance companies (Geico I believe, USAA won't) will give up to a grand for aftermarket parts.
So at the minimum, you'll get around 4-5K, minus your deductible (some is $500->1K), then you'll have to tell them you want to buy back the car (some insurance companies won't tell you have this option) for an amount of money based off of the damage and what they think they can get at auction for the vehicle, so this price varies.
Based on your damage, I would be willing to venture that your buy back value may be a few hundred. Maybe five to seven hundred.
So 5K - (deductible and buy back) = money in your pocket plus your car.
I work with a lot of insurance companies. The place I work for actually does a lot of insurance work but does the engine/transmission/suspension side of it, so I know how this all works. My S14 got totaled for USAA, buy back was $500, and they gave me close to 4K for it. SO I ended up with 3500 which I used to fix it.
BTW I never got around to doing the Adaptronic.....

Sorry for your loss bro. My wife is a claims adjuster n I have seen n been involved in this situation several times . The insurance company will give you Fair Market Value for your car . This is determined by them comparing KBB , NADA and prices of similar cars across the country . They also will not look at any mods or upgrades unless you scheduled them specifically in your policy . You also don't have to take their first offer. You can negotiate based on other vehicles you find .
As far as salvage value it shouldn't be much to buy it back few hundred or a little more but again don't mention your supercharger etc . If they know about that stuff their buyer of salvage vehicles may pay more for it themselves .
Good luck n glad your ok. That's the main thing , our cars are built pretty sturdy n seem to protect the drivers and passengers in collisions

I got $4000 for my 95 sc4 w/ 191,xxx miles, pretty much all stock when it got totalled. I went online and printed out all the SC's for sale in the midwest(my area). I sent them to the insurance adjuster. Like flash said don't have to take the first offer. I was offered $3000 at first, then sent all the prices for ones for sale around me. Just don't get mad at the adjuster. Stay calm and make your case that you can't replace your car for the $2600 they offered. You might be able to squeeze some more $ out of them, depending on the prices of SC's in your area.

I'm sorry to hear about the accident and I am glad that you are doing okay seeing as you posted I really pray that everything works out for you find another SC that will replace your last. You put a lot of work into your car and I'm sure you will be more than willing to do it all over again Best of luck to you sir.
It's things like this that make me kinda step back into reality and realize that I'm not invincible. No matter how much I feel I'm a good driver, anything can happen and I shouldn't be cocky with my SC because it's a beautiful car and a blessing I have one.
It's nice that you post to us and let us know what's going on. I'm sure you will be able to get enough money together to find another SC for a decent price. Think of it, your SC was just doing its job by keeping you safe.
Take care and be safe.

If having a good unibody with good title will help you , let me know . Call me , I might be of help getting your car on the road again with that unibody. You just have to transfer everything you have on that SC400 unibody with good title that I used for parts on my two other SCs. I don't need it and is just occupying space in my place north of atlanta .
Or if you are planning to part yours and selling your supercharger .. let me know too.

OK guys.
The original settlement was for about 3250. Because I'm keeping the car it went down to about 2630.
Keep in mind this is all after my 500 deductible.
I sent the adjuster an autotrader link searched withing 200 miles of my zip code, the average price for a 92-95 SC400 is around 6000. She added 750 to the settlement.
So about 4000 if they kept the car and around 3390 with me taking the car. Again, this is after the 500 deductible so technically they are putting the value at 4500.
Also, I bought the red SC pictured above for 5000. It's a 96 which will create some new challenges but I am determined to make it work!

Congrats on your new red SC... That car is beautiful...
I must admit, it's sad to know yet another of the original 40,000 SCs ever built is gone forever.

Turns out that the Megan traction bar on the rear drivers side is bent like hell, every thing else with the exception of the rear upper control arm appears ok.
The impact pulled the flange that the axle bolts to on the diff side, out of the diff and buggered the seal. Hopefully the diff is ok.
