Redoing the interior for the 94 SC400 Im giving to my 16yr old. Its coming out pretty good considering everything is 20 years old. Ive still got to do the pass door, dash and center console. For all of you guys/women who have posted DIY on SEMing the interior thanks

Regarding the lumbar I cut sponge and shoved in there then put duck tape to hold in. Then cut sponge about 1/4 inch thick and same size as entire hole and glued. Then cut a piece of vinyl about 1in wider than the entire hole and after that I did liquid stitch. With it being right next to the seam it was harder than the other spots. When I have more time I plan on using more liquid stitch to even it out but for now it will do

Major set back. When I originally started I painted part of the plastic with SEM to see how it would hold up and it did fine even with taking tape off. Anyways yesterday we taped off a few areas to fix and when we removed the tape from the plastic it peeled the paint off. So now Ive got to remove the paint and find a color that will come close to matching and will stick to plastic. The fun of DIY

I am doing something similar with my car ,except I am having my seats reupholstered black n tan
If part of your paint came off on the plastic I would bet it has something to do with the prep . It is essential to follow the prep instruction totally or the paint won't adhere properly . Good luck bro
Btw what was the color of the tan SEM. Does it match our dash tan very well. Thanks tom
