Hello,
I am new here. I am not very familiar with these vehicles.
It is a 99 SC300 auto with 130,000 miles.
The motor is stock and interior other than audio.
It will be repainted in a gloss white.
What would you pay? What is a reasonable offer and what kind of sc specific questions should I ask.
Thanks

Interior is in surprisingly decent shape considering the exterior, which atleast looks like it has been taken care of as far as dents go. I wouldn't personally go higher than 3.5 for this. But it depends on what you value his rims, and title status(clean or rebuilt) at.

This, considering the exterior and him telling you the wrong year, I'd walk away, maybe $2,600, the mileage is kind of low, but who knows what kind of maintenance has been done or how he's taken care of it. If the paint job he gets isn't quality work (which I doubt it will be) it's not worth a lot, especially with those ebay tail lights. hopefully he kept the 97-00 tails.

Clarify 98 with 99 body parts. He works as a mechanic as well.
Has upgraded tail lights and lowering springs.
Clean title
Keep up the advice guys.
He is wanting to trade me for my usdm 2JZ swapped MKIII supra that needs some TLC.
I was wanting cash so I'll probably be just looking to resale this.

there is supposed to be 1 line on the airbag, but it does look a little bulged for some reason but doesn't scream deployed or anything. Keep your mk3 especially if it has a US 2jz in it.
there seems to be a major impact on the drivers front at the least, because if this is it repaired, I can see from the pictures the drivers headlight gap to the hood is way off from the passenger side (this is not a simple bumper adjustment), also has the tell tale sign of a newer looking drivers headlight than the passenger side its clearly been replaced. The high beams also look tweaked some and not sitting right as well as the bumper. this car needs more time in the body shop not just paint, and thats just what you can see. the real question is what's underneath? was the frame damaged? was it properly pulled if it was? did the drivers side suspension take a hit, if so what was replaces and will the car align out again?
basically you need to get someone who knows what they are looking for to poke around underneath or you might get stuck with an SC that will never track right (worst case scenario) or will take a bunch of shop time to just get the body panels to line up again + paint (best case scenario). 2K maybe worth the risk, as everyone has mentioned even if you part it the 97+ parts aren't in great shape and it doesn't have the nicer seats or steering wheel. I bet they are really excited to trade with you especially if your car is not damaged.

looks like airbags may have deployed, find out the status on the title and then go from there. Personally i wouldnt pay that much although its a 98+, the car just seems sketchy to me, check if all the seatbelts are still working and etc. i don't like how it has ebay tails, and that the front bumper doesnt seem to line up well considering thats an oem bumper too. Check the frame rails and etc. If you do end up buying it try and get it for cheaper. 97+ can go for as close to 3-4k here in las vegas in much better condition.
