I have a pretty clean sc400 that I might be able to get 4000 for. I want a 5spd.. is it cheaper to try and sell the sc400 and get a 5spd 300 (if i find one) or would it be more costly to swap in a w58 in the 400?

Easy question. If your car is clean, why sell it. Trying to find another SC in the same shape or even might end up worse trying to find a 5 speed. Swap it and move on to the next project. You will thank me later.
Oh yeah, you might also have to start over on the maintenance side of the house on your new purschase. The SC you have now, you at least know where you are it with it. Just my two cents. GL

Alright I will stay away from quantum auto based off my searches.. apparently a good bang for the buck would be to get the kit from 1uzfeswapkit.com and possibly other parts from driftmotion. Now I just needa figure out what parts i'm missing aside from the kit.
