ALI, thats what I was also afraid of. I didnt want to tell him that, since the use of a slim jim or something close. I hope he can grap of hold of the inner door handle somehow and get it to open. I hate to see anyone tear up a door panel, especially if it is mint.

yeah I think he can get the door open from the inside as the mechanisms from inside and outside are separate, and its not common for the inside one to stop working all of a sudden, its probably just the plastic part thats broken, OP do you have a picture of it? the outside handle cannot be fixed without taking off the door panel, which means opening the door so it has to be done from the inside.
If its just the plastic part thats broken, you can even prob wedge a large flat screwdriver to get it to open a few times before it cracks further, one time I even drilled and screwed in a large screw into one to get the door open with a pair of pliers, once you get it open remove the door panel it may not work twice..
you can probably even remove the plastic door handle its only a couple screws and try and get to the cable behind it and you have to pull it tight to open the door, kind of like a bicycle cable.
the lock unlock is a separate rod. I think the inside door handle is on a cable and the outside door handle has a seperate rod with the clip, the door actuator has like 4-5 things coming out of it. if the outside handle isn't working it could just be the clip or the clip came off then the rod broke but usually you know when the rod breaks its loud. if its just a clip it could be a matter of just putting it back on, if the rod is broken I usually replace the whole unit.

Well due to lack of a slim jim the door panel had to pay the price. Good thing it wasn't in great condition anyways. The interior is going to get replaced anyways. Thanks for all the help though. I'll have to buy some plastic clips and a new interior door handle to get it working again.
