Wassup guys! I'm new to this forum and would like to say hi.
I currently own an MR2 turbo:
but after next show season, I'll be looking for a new project. I think that an sc300 with the 2jz-gte is the absolute best bang for the buck as far as luxury, speed, reliability, and drivability. So that is what I will be going with. My first question: with the basic swap and BPU, on the stock sc300 5 spd, how fast are you guys running at the track? Thanks guys!

Hi Jeff thanks for the heads up man. I guess I'll shoot for a 1995 5 spd if it is available at the time of purchase. Thanks for the advice.
So you are with All Star? Cools, your cars looked sweet at Import Xpression. And Congrats for winning by the way.
I'd love to check out your sc300 one of these days. I honestly think (i guess just like everyone in here and you included) that the sc3 is the best thing since sliced bread and I think your car is simply an awesome example of what the sc300 is capable of. By the way, I hope you really are kidding about me copying anyone. I've owned 5 mr2 turbos and a supra tt within the last 8 years including a drag mr2 that was worked on by toyomoto back in the day that belonged to Diego from Drag Wars (I'm just a big fan of the 3sgte and 2jz-gte motors). It's just that I never seriously competed at shows until now. So please don't blame me for being on the "DL" all these years. hehe...So hopefully you and all the other sc300 gurus will help this grashopper out once I start working on the swap at the end of this year.

Jeff: Thanks man...I'll definitely be calling on you for advice.
Looks like I'm shooting for nov to start.
I'm gonna TRY and attempt the swap myself with a couple of friends first. If I run into problems, I'll have to apply for a bus pass. hehe
Dimcorner: thanks for the offer, but I'm gonna probably stay usdm all the way this time.
1sicklex: Thanks for the welcome, I hope to contribute positvely to this forum.

yeah it's on it's way from England.
The Cosmo is a pretty nice car with ALOT of gadgets in it
.
I think thou that the Soarer is a quicker car, but the Soarer looks like just any regular SC here :\. I dunno what my plans in the end are, but i just wanna see if anyone here is interested my Soarer. If not then i'll just keep it, otherwise i'll sell it and get something else.
BTW...
The car is running NIIIICE now with the new supra brakes. THANKS JEFF!!

I think you're on the right track! Try to get a US motor, and, as suggested, get the whole front clip if you can. You'll need, in addition to the engine:
Main Wiring Harness
supra ECU
Supra power steering pump w/ remote resevoir
Intercooler
Supra downpipe/front cat.
Supra throttle cable and cruise control cable
supra igniter, resistor, and noise suppressor units
Supra fuel pump
Heavier clutch for the 5-speed
I run mine on the street with consistent 18 PSI boost, and the stock 5-speed and rear-end have held up admirably for some 20k miles now.
Be prepared for a rocket launch!
