Question Any advice on how to remove the bottom steering wheel cover on my 92 SC4?

As covered in the thread
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...hreadid=29561, I am looking into wiring up my turn signal cornering lights as full-time "fog" lights.

But I have not gotten very far after removing the three screws that secure the bottom steering wheel cover (there are 2 on bottom and 1 on right front side under steering wheel once turned). That did not seem to loosen the bottom part- it still seems secured to the top part. The seam between the two parts is very tight- it is as if they are attached to each other on the inside.

I suppose I could jam a screwdiriver blade in there and twist it, but I don't want to damage anything by doing it wrong. What's the trick to popping it off?

Post A little bit tight!

It might be a little hard to do. The covers do pop apart - but it can be quite a bit tight! Press with your fingers where the loop clip is - don't use a screwdriver, you'll mark it. Just keep fiddling and trying things - it will come apart, second try is a charm.

Don't take the top one out yet! You might break it - the top half comes out later.

Thumbs up

I just went outside and right you are, ToeJam- thanks! It sure was stubborn, but pressing a little more agressively in that loop clip area finally loosened it.

Next step, in tomorrow's daylight, is figuring out how to jumper my wires so my cornering lights become fog lights.
