Help, OEM keyless FOB
Alright I bought a HYQWDT-C remote. intended for my 1995 sc400.
Tried to program the remote, but failed after I get to the part once you press lock on the remote,
strip my interior looked at the door control box just see what the actual FCC-ID for my car.
turns out to be 89741-24050 fcc id HYQWDR-C. so what the heck? I've tried to search but not much came up with that id #.
? anyone care to input> ?

I'm not sure if anybody understood your question, but let me try since I just bought a brand new single button remote from Lexus Sewell with our Club Lexus membership discount. My SC didn't come with the keyless FOB when I bought it, and always had to open the door from the passenger side 'cause the driver always seem to trigger the alarm and I grew tired of it. Plus, I look silly doing it when it's just me. LOL

I got it for $140. Setting it up was pretty easy. I got the guide here in CL as well.
Here are the steps:
*Key not inserted
*Driver door open
*Driver door unlocked
1. Insert key in ignition, then remove.
2. (Within 40 seconds) Lock & Unlock 5 times. (1 second interval)
3. Close driver door, then open.
4. Repeat Step 2.
5. Insert key in ignition.
6. Turn to On & Lock 2 times. (1 second interval)
7. Remove key.
8. You'll hear a confirmation from car.
9. Press transmitter switch for 1 second.
10. Confirmation from car.
11. Close then Open driver door.
12. Press transmitter switch for 1 second.
13. Confirmation from car. 1 beep - GOOD 2 beeps - BAD
If you did everything accordingly and still nothing has worked, let me ask you this; where did you buy the key? 'Cause I have tried buying the key everywhere in the past to get it cheap and nobody sells the right one for my year model SC which is '95 just like yours. My only option was really the dealer. The OBDII guys have no problem buying a replacement other than the dealer. The '92-'93 factory alarms are different, like Davidddd said, they have to buy the transponder chip and replace it with the key. The '94-'95 can be replaced with the key alone, but must be bought directly from the dealer.
I looked at my new key, and the FCC ID on it is HYQWDT-B, but the manual says HYQ1512A. Whatever that means, I don't know. The dealer can change the part number or whatever anytime they want and for whatever reason too. Good luck.

I had the same problem, bought the wrong FCC ID remote fob for my 96 SC. and would not work for anything. Just got fed up and bought a Viper Keyless system for $48.00 off eBay and installed in instead. I still have the old fob it has the FCC ID as the one you bought. You will have to get the remote that matches your keyless module.

Thanks everyone
But I tried searching with that FCC-ID but nothing came up. ??
I might end up going with aftermarket unit. (remote start upgrade) not that I will use it much,
