The lights next to the gear shifter (center console- in front of radio) in my automatic 93 SC400 aren't working. They are the lights that tell you what gear you are in.
How would I go about getting them to work? are there bulbs under the shifter that can be replaced?
I also noticed that when I press the ECT/Power button, that it does not light up the ECT light on the dash board. Could this be related?

sounds more like someone had mess with that area before, took that panel off or something, therefore forgot to plug in the connector, do you actually feel the difference on shifting when you turn your power button on?, take it apart and check the plugs before trying to replace any bulbs
