Default Hey, guys Is there something I can paint the interior with ?

I was wondering if there are some special paints so I can paint my grey interior either black or tan.
I was thinking to get it from some smashed sc but that's a lot of work to put everything a part and back on a car.

Anything you can use to paint the interior... hmm... have you tried paint? haha, j/k, I've seen people try and actually paint the leather, bad idea. It gets all hard and grainy, looks bad, and def not something you want to sit on. However, I believe it was done with regular spray paint. Perhaps if you used something else it may come out different. However, personally, I would just find pieces from a yard in the color you want, and as far as seats go, recovering isn't all that expensive and you'll have nice new seats, hope that helps

hmmm they have special interior paints

I have seen them at www.rksport.com (GM Performance tuner) but I know people who have painted their interior- it comes out looking pretty cheap up close though from a distance it looks cool

the dash becomes slightly sticky in hot weather, and it just looks odd... the paint doesnt feel right when you touch the dash or other surfaces

you could get a shop to dye the dash I dont know how that would turn out, or to get the whole dash and all the interior redone in black vinyl but thats money right there!!!

Go to an auto paint supply shop. ask to see "SEM" paint color sheet. They have interior colors for our cars. You will be amazed. I have a tan interior. My steering wheel had some fade to it. I painted it two years ago. NO PEEL OR FADE!!!! i have put about 20,000 miles in it. You must follow the directions. It is expensive, but well worth it. SEM makes interior paint and exterior trim paint only.

Guys,

My dealership set me up with a leather repair company. They re-dyed my two front seats, they turned out fantastic. This was done 2 or 3 years ago and they still look good. They also re-shot this plastic rim that sits around my 5 speed shift ****. Once again great job. So in the right hands, leather as well as plastic can be re-painted. I hope this helps.

Look in one of the Hot Rod magazines and find a company that offers resto parts for something like an old Camaro. They will have the proper dyes for redoing an interior. They are not too expensive either.

Sorry I can't be more specific about what kind of dye the company used to dye my leather or what kind paint they used to re-shoot the plastic.. The place in Austin is called Leather Menders. Surely their must me a similar place in everyones town that does interior restoration.
