Default Trac Light On?

My TRAC light is coming on after about 5 min. of driving. I searched the forums for info, but the posts describe the TRAC light coming on along with a Brake light or a Check Engine light. In this case the TRAC light comes on by itself, no other indicators. Anybody got any info on this?

You may be in the early stages of having your O2 sensor crapping out one you. Get the Error code and let me know I can help you if I get the Error code.

OK, I tried hooking up the TE1 and E1 like you said, and the Check Engine light just blinks continuously. What could that mean? Or did I not do this right??

I'm not to sure if it blinks continuously. Usually it will blink a few times pause for a sec then blink a few more times and that blinking sequence is the error. I'm not 100% sure with the blinking way. I just plug the computer in and see what code comes up. Do a search for 02 sensors in the Engine section somebody discussed the way your troubleshooting the o2sensors in extremely full detail.

O2 sensors have nothing to do with the heat of the car. Some problems bad O2 sensors can cause are the following: Bad gas mileage, rotten smell coming from exhaust (could also be a CAT in some cases), TRAC always off(indicated by Light always on), Also check engine light in combo with TRAC light being on points to an O2 sensor. If it's your rear o2 sensors that your having the problems with, then you don't have to stress to much. However, our two Main (front) sensors play a big role in quite a few things so you wanna change those.

It's not a glitch. And sorry to tell ya but it will come back eventually(use to come and go for me also, till one day it never went away). Put it on a computer and see what error code you get next time the light comes on. If your lucky if you put it on a computer now it may give you something, might not if light isn't on but worth a shot.

Took the car to a shop that specializes in Toyota & Lexus (not a dealer). They checked the Trac/ABS computer by replacing with a new one & Trac light still came on. They got error codes ABS #54and Trac #43 like DA51 did in his post. ABS light isn't on. O2 sensors checked out fine. Technician tells me that Lexus repair manual calls for replacing computer, then trac pump, then actuator. In other words, keep spending thousands of dollars until something happens. I said to hell with that. Tech is reinstalling old computer & I'll get it back tomorrow.
