This! I can understand if the paint was beat to **** or faded.. But that was actually a nice paint job on the car before. I know it's plasti-dip and is supposed to peel off but that alone is going to be so labor intensive.
OP hope you plan on keeping the car, you just killed the resale on it.
Plasti-dip comes off no sweat... just peel and you're game, it's not labor intensive.
Matte white?!? You better take a pic because in about 8 seconds it will be stained every bug gut and dirt color under the sun. LOL. That satin white doesn't work in that type of environment, but it looks good as hell for the first day!

One of my old Civics I rattled canned satin white and it held up pretty damn well surprisingly. Traded the car about ~3-4 months after spraying it. The only bad part was the front bumper from all the bugs the rest surprisingly wasn't too stained or anything. I spent like ~30 hours on that paint job and the kid I traded it too spun a bearing and then painted it "pistachio green" which looked like total ****.
looks good, I am planning on doing this to my truck if I can find a place to purchase the product. Here in Ca it is difficult to purchase plastidip, no retailer will ship to here.

I willnhave to wash it more often...lol...but it has stayed cleaner that I thought it would so far I did let it set for a week inside to fully cure before moving it at all.
...well I really didn't want to take it outside for the first time in the rain haha

On their website says no shipping to California. I may try to purchase a few gallons just to see if they would, if not worst thing they can do is refund my money.
