Default Opinions 97+ Spoiler or 92-96??

well I'm deciding on a new spoiler on my '95, the one I have now is beginning to crack (too much heat in SoCal haha) very small cracks that I only see when wax gets caught in em but its enough to bother me soooo

what do you guys prefer? I'm seriously split between the two

the 92-96 kinda has the drifter style look while the newer '97+ looks ehhm newer

thanks guys for the votes and suggestions!

also can anyone find a plcae to beat www.spoilers4less.com 's prices??

thanks!

Thats what I would get too, but either way I am happy... I love the spoilerless look... as well before when I didn't have my car I really wanted a spoiler. If i upgraded my 92-96 I would get a non led flush mount, if I had a 97-00 I would get that one. I couple times I almost won a 92-96 spoiler for around 40-50 USD, too bad I didn't get it... just be patient if you aren't in a rush (Ebay bidding... althought I know ebay is frowned upon on CL and I know why now, I am very scetchy about their stuff after researching their HIDs and installing a WRX intake on my friends car, nothing fits!!)

92-96 style has 3 sets of holes whereas the 97+ style has 2 sets of holes. If you decide to switch to the newer style you will either have to patch up the holes in the center of the trunk (probably by spot welding if you want to do it right, which means you will probably have to repaint your trunk lid) or cover it up with some tape (which I think someone has done before).

1995 w/ aftermarket 97+ spoiler w/led brakelight.
Trunk lid was welded (after removing stock spoiler) and repainted.
This was done by the previous owner, so thats all the info I have about the conversion.

hmmmm

I guess I'll got with the 92-96 style- dont wana deal with patching up the holes

why do people prefer the LEDless spoilers?? I kinda like it better than the third brake light in the window maybe pictures would help me understand never seen one w/o a LED

exoticwooddash.com has good prices too for anyone who needs a spoiler

thanks guys

I like the LEDless spoiler better cuz my car already has a third brake light above the sub. I didn't read yours right, you have a cracked spoiler and want to replace it... I would just replace it with the same one or see if you can fix it?

I like the LED-less spoiler because I think it looks cleaner, there is no wire inside the spoiler may rattle when the bass is turned up.

That is not a 97+ spoiler, that is an aftermarket one, the oem one looks like this... although that spoiler is quite nice. Wonder what kind it is.

Ok, well, I didn't think it was a perfect match for the 97+, but I like it better than the factory one anyway. If anyone has any idea on what kind it is, let me know. I also have 97+ style side skirts, but I have compared and they are not an exact match for factory either. Could this be part of some body kit minus the bumper covers? Any info would be much appreciated!

After some research (thanx to intellexual.net) I believe that my spoiler & side skirts are Kaminari. That front bumper cover sure looks good. Well, there's something else to spend $ on!
