Default Uht oh

Well that sucks about your Lex....makes me nervous being I am not that far away from you in the Pompano/Ft Lauderdale area. Yeah I know Miami is worse...but with my wheels on it..the car is a looker. Check the Herald and the Sun..as well as the Auto Trader....SC interior will stand out.

Well I'm waiting to hear from the insurance company with their offer, as they told me are going to total her.

I think this was a targeted hit because I can't believe anyone would randomly steal an SC400 hoping to sell the interior on the open market, but I guess you never know. Bescides they left the stock rims and almost new tires.

Make sure you check and see what your car's value is with www.kbb.com . If you know what its worth, you will be less likely to be screwed. You do not have to take the adjusters first offer if you are not satisfied. In most cases, they may be willing to pay a little more to avoid litigation. Be educated about the value and stick to your guns! Good luck! Hopefully this whole ordeal will be over for you soon.

It used to be certain cars were targeted as high theft autos. Now it's apparently anything with something of interest on/in it. On the 13th our teenage neighbor's Blazer was stolen -- in broad daylight -- from the high school -- security patrolled -- parking lot.

He and his dad had spent hours and $$$ on it after bringing it back from Colorado. They completely redid the interior, installed a the-neighbor-kid's-home-at-3am-sound system, raised it, roof lights, wheels, tires, etc. Thousands of $$$$.

Sunday it was found in an apartment complex parking lot on the other side of town, on blocks, completely gutted and damaged.

Too bad we can't deflate cars and stuff them in a back pack -- think of what we could do with parking lots! Racetracks!!

schu,

I think nice cars with tons of aftermarket/oem parts on it are always victim. I believe in 2way paging alarms. When I go out of ton, the car gets locked up in a safe place. Even with that said, things can still get stolen. That is life.

Update.

I got a check today.

State Farm was great, they paid $12k plus sales tax.

Considering I bought the car a year and a half ago for $7,600, it was a great investment.

Really thinking about a 97 or newer.

Alls well that ends well.
