Default Salt

Just got back from a trip to Montreal in my SC, and the amount of salt that was picked up from driving through Vermont is unbelievable, words cannot explain the amout of salt on my car. To give you an idea, the entire highways were white. Naturally, I will be getting the car washed tomorrow, but how quickly does salt being to eat away at whatever it may eat away at?

I always run my car through a tohchless car wash twice.
The one close to my house has under-chasis water blaster, so that should prevent any serious deterioration due to salt build-up.
