HIGH QUALITY flexible chrome trim/molding: Where to buy?
(I'm posting here, rather in than in the RX300 forum, because there seem to be more people modding and updating SC's than RX's...)
I made the mistake of buying some flexible chrome molding off eBay. Since I wanted trim for some rarely-touched surfaces (like where the plastic and vinyl pieces of my doors meet---places no one ever touches) I was just looking for something small (e.g., 3 or 4 millimeters in diameter), self-adhesive, and chrome in color. Seriously, I had very low expectations...
...or so I thought. This is what was sent to me:
Only the tippy-top portion of the molding is "chrome". Both sides of the trim show lots of white opaque plastic (that white you see is plastic, not a reflection from chrome). There's seriously no place I could put this in my car that wouldn't show some white in addition to chrome, and that's most definitely NOT the look I was going for.
So now I ask: where can one buy high quality (perhaps professional grade) flexible "chrome" molding strips? You know, something where 100% of the visible surface is chrome, rather than just 60%?
By the way, I'm in Atlanta. If you have a local recommendation, I'll take it, too.
Thanks in advance.
