003217 I was told the sequence was started at 003210 For sc300s so if that's correct that means I have #8 off the assembly line. My supra is also sequenced similar to this the first mkiv supra started the sequence 001010. To date I've only seen marios hard top that was close to that which was 126th off the line. Check those vins guys!!! It's the last 6 of your vin I just confirmed this through Lexus.

I can't see that tag it's faded completely all I have is the vin to go by. And Lexus said that's all I needed to pull the production history.

Why would it start at 003210? and Supra start 001010? ....What year is your SC? And what does your month and year say and "NO.___" Curious to know now.

Idk why they started at that number but that's what they did, my sc is a 92. My month and year were 05/91 from what the dealer told me today but he didn't mention anything about a number.

Yours will be different because yours is a sc400 so it's a different group of numbers.

The last 6 of the vin only tells the sequential number. This doesnt verify model year in any way, thats a different part of the vin code. Not saying your not correct, but there is more to it than just the vin. Whats is the 10th character in your vin code?

Your correct in your first sentence, it does tell the sequence number in which it means in what order they produced it. Everything about a cars assembly and production is in the vin number that tells its history. This is how it was explained to me from Lexus.

I figured there weren't as many SC300's since they came out a while after the SC400 did. It's just a guess but maybe it that could have something to do with it.

My '92 SC300 door sticker reads "NO. 337". Did not see a date reference. This does not line up with the VIN number as other posters have claimed.

Not sure what significance these numbers represent relative to "into the u.s." or even if they depict the manufacturing sequence at the Japan factory (logic dictates it should but who really knows?). Not sure there is any benefits to having a "low" number - I'd rather have them build a few and work out any assembly challenges before they got to the one we acquired.
