I don't know what the white plastic piece that is pulled back and forth along the metal rail of an sc300 window regulators is called but if it is broken off, can that single piece be replaced?

NOPE! it can be fixed with a DIY on here but not replacable, gotta buy a whole new regulator.

I think we have a failure to comunicate.
I believe Hoosier was referring to fixing it without buying a new regulator.

Moretoys is correct. I meant that you can repair the plastic part --- that is, if it's the part that breaks for most of us. O.L.T. did a good write up of repairing the plastic with JB Weld, but that only seems to last for some people, depending how bad their break was. The link moretoys shared starts with O.L.T.'s JB Weld repair, but quite a few pages in Photon 440 Presents another way to repair it, one that ought to last as long as the car. Mine was too far gone for JB Weld, so I used Photon 440's method, with some minor variations, and it is still rock solid. It costs less than $3.

I want to thank you guys for your input. However, as embarrassing as it is, I must confess that my limited knowledge of all things electrical caused me to conclude that the regulator was bad. In fact, the regulator is fine. I just came in the house after doing some continuity testing. I found there are 2 bad wires in the big harness going from the car to the armrest switch.at rather I've read a lot of posts on window problems and this seems to be a fairly common problem too. I'll ask another question of anyone whose also had this problem. How did you handle the repair. I was thinking, rather than completely unwrapping the tape and cutting into those protective sleeves to get to the point where the wires are broken I could cut the bad wires on each side and just splice in a length of same gauge wire . Is that a feasible solution?

To anyone out there who's good with electrical issues. I'm still struggling with the passenger window. Initially I thought it was the regulator. That proved to be wrong, the regulator works fine. There are a lot of posts suggesting that broken wires in the harness from the passenger side kick panel into the door is a common problem. With that information in mind I figured some continuity testing would be in order,. 5 wires run to the armrest window switch. R, G/Y, G/W, B, R/B. The2 wires that run into the window motor are the G/Y and the R. Perhaps not surprisingly in the big harness I had no continuity on G/Y and R. I cut those 2 wires at each end and spliced in some new wire. I should be good to go, right? Not a chance Still no power to the motor. So, what did I do wrong? Any ideas and, or suggestions?

I may have found the answer to my own question.. By chance I had the opportunity to talk to a former Toyota mechanic today. I explained the problem I've been having with the passenger side window. I told him what I thought and what I had done and he suggested a totally different possibility. He said the window modulator, that box underneath the switch assembly on the drivers side, commonly goes bad. He said it can be bought separately so you don't have to replace the whole assembly. It might be a good idea before you take out the regulator or mess with the wiring like I did, to check out this part.
