Battery light stays on
Hey guys, So the other day my battery light kicked on and when i looked it ended up being the alternator wires being all old and breaking at the connector. so i replaced the pigtails and put new pins in the connector.
I have a 160 amp alternator iirc and just put it in 3 weeks ago. has not given me any issue until now.
Also when i turn on the headlights, something starts whining. I believe its the alternator.
I may have spilled a bit of coolant on it when i changed my lower hose but nothing outrageous by any means.
my real question is what could cause the battery light to stay on? what triggers it? originally the wire for the light severed but now that its repaired its still on. Hope its not my new alternator

The battery is a couple years old, Guess it could be that.
Its just that i let it sit for 2 weeks, and it started right up. I didnt think with a bad battery it would hold that long.
really weird..... ill have to re do the wiring i guess and then test the battery. Thanks guys

PHR has the best higher amps Alternator , it's an LX470/ GX470 modified Alternator to work on the 2JZ.
