My 93 SC400 climate control has the infamous ugly black smudge marks on it. I want to replace it with a '98 climate control, since it is newer and less likely to develop problems until later down the road- and also because I think a '98 has an amber colored display. I already have an updated amber Nakimichi unit, so an amber climate control would match nicely.

Before I order one, can you please verify if a '98 climate control will have an amber display?

I found one for $199, with a 1 year warranty. Does that sound like a fair price?

I'm installing a 98 climate control in my 93 SC400. My current climate control has a bad display, so the newer one should look much nicer. I'm already familiar with taking the dash/center console apart, since I installed the factory cupholder to the right of the unit last week.

Anything I need to watch out for?

I have a '98....to answer your question, no, it has a green-ish tint to the backlighting.
