1uz Coffee Table
What's up Club Lexus. Its been a long time since Ive posted on here. Not really much to share or many mods. Some of yall will remember me & my story. I spun #6 rod bearing in my 98 SC400 vvti , about 3.5yrs ago, That's when I put the 3uz block in my car. Well the old block has just been sitting in, my buddies ex gf's shed since then. Ive seen pics of ppl building coffee tables out of old V8 blocks. Ive always said, one day Im gonna do that to my 1uz. I switch careers 4mo ago & am now a drafting engineer for a good size full fabrication shop. I do all the CAD work & program the Laser machine. So I pretty much have full access to what ever I need, to build whatever I want.
I started on the block a couple weeks ago. All the fabrication is done. Now I just have to have the block Jet coated "ceramic coated" & tumble polished. Then buy a custom size piece of glass. It looks great. Cant wait to put it in my living room with the new flat screen im gonna have to buy to fit the table. Lol good excuse to get a new TV. What yall think?
Final Pics on 2nd page
The pic I saw that inspired me...
Just after gutting the block...
After I figured out how I was gonna mount the rods on the block. Utilizing the head bolt holes, cause the water jackets surround the cylinders, which that's where the rod bolt hole spacing would be...
This is after all the fabrication & its current state...

Thanks Buddie! Would look even cooler if it had a couple of turbos strapped on both sides, like your ride!
