Talking Taillights Changed 4 Times w/PICS

Here's my 92 with stock lights, then 95-96 taillights, then my custom 95-96 lights, and finally the 97+ taillights. I think the 97+ look the best.

Sorry for the dark picture, just took it!

Can't see the last pic in the dark but The stock lights dont look good on white(IMO). The 97 plus looks the best. I think black looks good with any of the tail lights. ( like you care )

Lex400sc, The 97+ tails quite possibly look best on your car. They match so well!

ryanSC300lover,

I think most anything can "fit". But the 97+ taillights are slightly different in shape where they meet the lower bumper. If you look closely you can see. People have found ways of lining the bolts up to make it work, but nothing to make the bumper match up perfectly.

I'll try to take some day pics but I get home so late from work there's no time. Maybe on the weekend.

I got it debagdged when some crazy lady smacked me in the @$$. It was another $100 to debadge front & rear.

To put the taillights in, 2 of the holes on each side doesn't line up exactly. I used a drill to expand the holes a bit further. Don't try to drill through the car but use the spinning side of the screwbit to push the holes wider apart.

It's very easy to do and took only 10 minutes!

Now I have to fix the fast blinking & rear taillamp indicator.

Thanks ruki . Many people agree that the 97+ lights look best on the beige SCs, even people that don't like the 97+ tail lights at all. In person, the chrome trim ring inside the headlight matches the beige color nicely, which helps to accent the car.

You can't really tell in the pics, but the bottom inner corners of the tail lights don't run parallel to the bumper. It's not at all noticeable unless someone points it out, or if you just installed the tail lights on your car and are scrutinizing the fit . I was one of the first to experiment with the 97+ with the help of DevilDog and Manaray, so I made the rash choice of drilling new holes in the rear subframe---kind of in a frustrated/panicked effort to make these $300 tail lights work! Manaray later bought a pair for his SC and figured out that you can just stick plastic straws through the stock screw holes and use them to guide the tail light screw studs into the holes. So you really don't need to drill anything at all. They will fit into the stock holes perfectly, it's just a minor issue with the alignment while you are trying to insert them that makes it hard. If you have a 92-94 SC, I guess there's a fast blink issue, but if you have a 95-96, you're safe. You'll get the rear light indicator with any model 92-96. I resolved that by pulling the rear light indicator bulb out. Manaray bought the light correction module, which I think he said did not work on his '92.

the lights dont attach to the bumper... I was saying the 97+lights fit into the holes that were already there for the old lights i had on there.
