Default never heard this before

my wife decided to drive my 97sc300 to work yesterday as she started the car and turned the steering wheel to back out the parking space i heard this sound from the outside "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr", once she was in the street she turned the wheel again "eeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr" then as the wheel was lined forward the noise kinda went away. i only noticed when she turned the steering wheel is left or right.....what needs to be inspected/changed

you probably have a leak in your power steering pump or one of the lines. this is fairly common with sc's.

Yea top of your fluid and make sure you don't have any leaks.

Most likely power steering leak.
Will screech/whine when the wheel is turned if your power steering fluid is low.

Check the fluid level and then follow the lines for any obvious leaks.
