Loose flood lights in door panels. Clean fixes?

The flood lights in the door panels won't stay IN the door panel. The tabs on the inside of the door panel that the the metal clips are supposed to wedge to are just gone due to time. Manipulating the clips does no good. Wondering how you guys deal with this. I know I could just put two screws in on either side of the opening or tape around the light to make it thicker and wedge in the opening but those are kinda tacky and it would be tough to get the lights out again if the need arose. What do you guys do to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Same issue here. Plastic on inside of both doors broken, both lights dangling. Maybe a flat plastic insert that can be inside the panel with the cutout of the light could be an answer. I think that this is an issue that needs addressing. I am going to work on some things for it this week for sure. Ill post if I find something useful.

The door panels in our cars are total crap and routinely fall apart. I was fortunate to find a very skilled professional that had repaired and restored MANY SC door panels. He worked on mine for a whole day including repairing them along with the window frames. It was expensive but worth it as trying to find junk yard parts now is near impossible.
Just a few pics to see how bad these panels can get on the inside.... He re-enforced all of the attachment points and repaired the tears including color matching the patches and blending in the texture patterns.

I plastic welded all my cracks and broken tabs. Its basically a soldering iron. there are some videos on youtube about this. Very easy. If your like me then just use a soldering iron and some zip ties. lol It does work.

I was always looking for a fix for this past like... glue. Unfortunately my dangling flood light finally fell straight out and had a meeting with my rear wheel pulling out of the garage this summer

JB Weld's best stuff is what I used for my cracks and known problematic areas that were crack free when I did my audio upgrade. Can't say how long it will last as I just did it, but I used JB Weld on two pieces of flooring tile(oldschool heavy ones). I put them together with 7 inches hanging on each side so basically it looks like this...
