And where did you get those vinyl mats? Those would be GREAT for the summer!!! Are they OEM?

Do they have a Lexus logo on them?
Does anybody have the part number for them?
I have NEVER seen them my dealership. (You think being Canadian has anything to do with it?)

whats the wood trim look like under the wood?
ive heard that the wood trim is really just metal pieces with paint on them...im toying with the idea of getting an aluminum dash kit (one of the large ones that would cover just about everything) and was wondering about if i stripped the paint covering the factory wood trim if that metal underneath it would match my kit. has anybody seen what the stock trim actually looks like beneath the paint? anybody know if it would match somewhat?

FWIW, the 97 SC300 has Bird's Eye maple trim. It's the oldest year Lexus gives specifications for on the Pre-owned site.

If you take the wood trim pieces off the car, you can see and feel the actual wood grain in it. The front is covered with a mm-thick clear plastic cover, which makes some people think the whole thing is a painted piece of plastic.

I've always liked the gray wood on the GS SportDesign and LS Ultra Lux. Not sure if it's possible to sand and restain the SC wood dark gray. Gray burlwood/birdseye in my opinion is the perfect convergence of luxury and sport, for cars with gray or black upholstery.

FYI sin, the last couple of years of the SC had a darker wood, just realized myself. Still, i've always wanted something in an exotic hardwood, like Babinga/Purpleheart, ya know?
