2000 sc400 cal car pre sale questions
So I decided I want a new car and am going to let my 2000 black/tan, 93k bone stock car go.
The paint is decent, but not the best. It also needs the 90k service.
My question is: do you all think I would be better off to have the car resprayed pre-sale?
Same with timing belt water pump service. Would I see a return of both funds?
Or, would I be better off selling for less without spending the money?
Thanks for your thoughts...

You will never receive back the 100% money you put into a car. JMO. I say let it go and cut your loss if you don't make a profit. If you post it on here, you must at least 100 post and some trader score or a vouch from another member on here that has the same prerequisite.

The car is worth what its market value is, based on mileage and overall condition of the car. The things that need attention should be deducted from the asking price...
Anyway a 93k 2000sc average private value is about 7-10$k

Don't respray if it's the original paint. I'd rather have decent factory paint than a new maaco / earl shibe job every day of the week and twice on sundays. A competent detailer can do amazing things with oem paint and depending on your definition of decent might be able to fix it right up with a cut and buff.

Yep. As long as the clear coat isnt peeling, you can get the paint shinier than a greasy duck. You can use heavy oxidation remover, then polish and paint restorer, and then finish it up with a polish!

I think some tree pitch fell on it and it etched the clear coat. I wonder if the can sand it and spray a new clear coat?
The local garage wants $1000 for the timing belt ant water pump. Does that seem excessive?

Yea that's what it costs for the timing belt and water pump job. If you can get a member to vouch for you, you can sell it on here. Show us some pics.
