fuse box and battery relocation questions
Hey guys. I am working on a relocation for battery and fuse box. I did it on a 92 Sc300 n/a automatic. I know when I switch to gte I'm gonna have to rewire the whole car again but for now I'm ok with doing this little project. So for the alternator I ran a 1 Guage battery wire. For the starter I ran a 4 Guage and for the ground I got a 4 Guage as well. I ran the ground from the battery to the engine. But somebody told me I should use 1/0 guage. Any truth to this?
Second question. The 4 Guage starter wire is coming from the battery, but I don't know if I should run a fuse along the wire and if so what amperage? I want to get the stinger in line fuse but again Idk what amperage.
Third, since the alternator wire also has a possibility of shorting out, should I run a fuse to it? It got from the alternator to the fuse box but Idk if I should. Please help. Thanks.

Large ground cable is good, fuses are not needed as Toyota doesn't use the. As you're describing and the only way they will be susceptible to a short is if you do crappy work and decide not to use common sense for some reason. As for rewiring the entire car, when swapping to gte you only focus on the engine harness, only two of those plugs go into the fuse box, so it'd just be a matter of reconfiguring the new harness to reflect the previous changes. No biggie
