Ebay item 2402267195

The guy says its a 97 SC300. That is so wrong. Look at the shift ****, the steering wheel and the milage!

If I am not mistakened, that is a 97... the 97 didn't get the gated shifter yet, which is the reason they still have 5spd. The 98+ had the gated shifter. I think 97 was a weird year, the V8 hadn't gotten the HP bump yet either, but cosmetically it is 'nicer'

Well if that is the correct VIN # he posted it does come back as a 97. As far as the mileage of 128K on a 97, nothing wrong with that just a tad high cause the average should be between 90k-110k for a 6 yr old car figuring 15-18k a yr.

HAHAHAHAH I was just looking at the pictures again, the idiot has SC400 badge on the back. Poser.
Maybe you are right, but I am still pretty sure its a 97

Although it does have a lot of miles for a 97... 130,000

He admits in his description that it is a SC300 with a SC400 label.
Now why would someone, especially a Lexus owner, misrepresent his own vehicle?
Adding SC400 options and calling it a SC400, does not make it a SC400.
You have to change out the Engine as well.
Maybe that it why his is selling it, to buy a SC400. (Let's hope)

Guys do that trying to fool the public while out cruising and getting stares so they think he has the V-8 instead of the V-6. More expensive model etc. "Poser"

Who would want the V-8 400 anyway over a perfectly capable I-6 300??

Those are the same guys who put a sock down their pants so they think they have an 8" instead of a 6".

Most people in the world don't realize the potential of the SC300, therefore they jock the SC400 because it has bigger model numbers and costs more. I get that a lot from my friends. "You drive a Lexus? Damn! It's a 400 too!". Oh yeah, I put about 30,000 miles on my car in the last year ... Who cares, I'm going to keep this thing until one of us dies .
