Default Tilt Steering Failure

Now i know there's tons of threads on this, i've been looking at them the past 2 hours trying to figure out how to manually lower my column. Tilt motor died or something. I hear the relay click in the dash but nothing happens by the wheel. It telescopes just fine. I already had it apart and nothing was jammed. in the meantime while i'm tracking down a new Tilt motor, any suggestions on lowering the column? Or if there's directions in a thread that i may have missed, i'd like to see them. TIA Brent.

It's usually not the motor. It's the plastic gear that the motor is attached to. Either replace plastic gear or place shims on the side if the gear to center with motor. Then it should work fine.
