sc300 auto vs. manual
I was browsing ebay to get a feel for a good price to ask for my '93 sc300 with a 5speed and I noticed all the sc300's there were automatics. I was under the impressions that most 300's were manual and the 400's were auto, but I was obviously wrong. Are the manuals rarer or are people just not sellings them? I find it hard to believe that the manual sc's are only worth the 4-5 thousand dollars that the autos are going for. I want to sell mine, but it's not worth it if that's all it's worth. Anyone have an idea what a fair price for a pristeen '93 with 135,000 miles is worth? Blue book says around high six's, but that seems cheap, too. Maybe I'm just too emotionally attached to it to let it go for that price.

5-speed manuals are indeed a rare breed. For $6,000, I'd garage it for another day! 5-speed SC300s should fetch you at least as much as a same year SC400. Shouldn't be too hard to get double the KBB quote with the right buyer. Especially if it is pristine like you say it is. To put it this way, I'd swoop up your car right now if I had $6000 laying around....

In California, it is probably worth about $7500, that's why some dealers here buy cars from out of state and sell them at auction to make few hundred dollars per car. I know many people in CL would buy a 5 speed, but for the general public concern, automatic is much more in demand.
