In his original message, he did do a search and seemed like he was on the right track... I think he found out about the Eaton blower, or possibly the price of the Toyomoto?...

Yes, that is precisely what I'm saying.
I'm currently trying to find an SC300 that doesn't have psychotic mileage, is 93-95, and has a manual tranny... Toyomoto being the end goal...

If power is your goal, then toyomoto is hardly your end. It will most likely be the middle. Your best bet is PHR with a 2jz-gte swap. I think from other people's experience, that would be MY PERSONAL choice. $15k for a 6speed 2jz-gte all (supra stock) smogable, and proven. Versus. $11k+ for a toyomoto with less power, more issues, and no smog (i don't think so at least). Tough to say, but the Supra Swap just sounds more fun.

From his original post, he just wants a little more kick off the line, probably to the tune of 300-400rwhp. I would still recommend he stick with a Toyomoto Stage 1.5-2 on the GE motor. If his goal was to build a street dragster (over 500rwhp), then I agree, the GTE motor would be the cheapest and easiest solution.

lex400sc,
Isn't that what Hermosa's 7mpg car is? I think he is up near $11k+ over $5000 in install and rental car fees.
I guess I would just be a different duck when doing my own car.

MartelJF,
I think you hit it on the button. Tough to say either way. It is an ongoing debate. NA-T guys think that is best. GTE guys think the swap is best. Just choose your shop first, see what they can handle and then go in that direction.
