LOL Damn you Skulinex..... I havent been to Alpines site in a while and I havent seen that unit yet.... I like that ALOT I will have to look into that now... I was not planning on changing out the factory unit until later and I was looking for a LCD and a few other things..... I think because of you I just found the unit I want BUT I need to wait ;( I dont have the money and I am sure that is a pretty penny..........

Hhehehehe well see thats why i said i WOULD cuz that model is for the japanese market only, it cost around 2 grand and then some and it was JUST released less than a week ago or so, you can check it but no read the info <unless you know jap> at www.alpine.co.jp the unit has a slot so you can insert a nav cd but its for japan only, now, i was thinking if maybe the unit could be hooked up to the alpine nav system for sale here .. dunno just ideas...

I don't think it would be worth it to try to make it work, and i'm pretty sure it's more than 2 grand, Alpine's nav drive alone is about that much. Best alternative is CVA-1006, DVA-5205, CHA-1214 or S624, and NVE-N851A. A little over four grand total, and you have the option of adding the PXA-H510 and SBS-0715, which are awwesome, trust me. Still though, you've got that damn .5 DIN, i'm not happy about it either, the right way to do it IMO is to fabricate a nice piece that goes from that space down through the ashtray, and meets up with the shifter plate, but there's always good options for creative ppl. Volvo puts a funky pen holder in a .5 DIN space....
