I wanna say its all in how you drive the car and that it has something to do with that magical moment when both tires happen to connect, errr... not connect. I have trac, but I usually drive with it off. there have been times where only one tire has spun (one on snow, other pavement) and times where i've laid two very nice skid marks or i've seen two really really nice rooster tails of slush/dirt flying from the back end. Has anyone ever tired disconnecting the braking part of the traction control so that just the active part of the differential distributed the power accordingly? The trac would be a beautiful thing if it didn't work in conjunction with the brakes...maybe thats just my opinion, or maybe i'm intoxicated? Mmmmmm....beer.

ok i have my trac off and trac light on in the cluster, i put both of my wheels on ice and pressed the gas and break both tires were spinning, i cant seem to just spin my wheels on dry pavement when i hit my left foot on the break and the right on the gas, now since my trac off light and trac light is on, wouldnt that mean my traction control isnt working? so wouldnt i be able to spin my wheels? i have 2 dunlop 255/45/16 in the back and i have a 93 sc 400 so why cant i just stand there and make a burnout, im sure my car is powerfull enough and this whole lsd thing i have never heard of only one tire spinning , i live in NYC and the weather here is preety crappy but i always get 2 wheels to spin on snow mud or rain slicked roads.

None of the US-spec SC's came with LSD. Also, on all SC's the right wheel is the one that gets "more" power than the left one. I've yet to see a SC that spins the left wheel, nature of the car.

Now it IS easily possible to spin both wheels. Both mine would spin ALL the time if I stomped it, or when the road was wet. Of course the turbo had a little to do with that.

I just started really thinking about my last post...man I am dumb. the TRAC sucks period for high performance driving....I mean really, cutting back throttle, applying brakes to slipping wheels...it was meant for old grandmas that don't know how to control the throttle and sliding in slippery conditions. ever noticed how acceleration with the trac working on snow is slower that just pedaling the throttle up to speed? they should have just given us LSD. anyone here reallly good at fabricating? lets make a 3s-gte all-trac sc300. he he he....

computerwhiz...were you talking about a turbo NSX or SC? well it doesn't matter, they're both sweet rides.

correct me here if im wrong, but i dont remember anyone ever claiming the sc's were posi-trac.

and the trac function is just a matter of computer initiated braking and wouldnt affect the diff locking in anyway, so without major changes inside the diff, i wouldn't expect it to "Act" like posi-trac at all.

anyway to disable the trac completely? if you press trac off it doesnt necessarily mean its fully off how weird is that, and what are the chances of making our v-8 AWD ? besides the weight increase i think it will make a drammatic improvement, imagaine a 5000pd lexus coupe ,

I never said anything about making the v8 an AWD, I said, lets convert an SC300 (6 cyl) into a toyota 3S-GTE (4 cyl turbo) all trac. So therefore, we'd be taking a 3sgte (which has already been thrown into an IS 300), then fabricating the all-trac system from the Celica to work for it.

another thing...if you had read my post, I said that TRAC sucks because all it does is cut back on throttle and apply BRAKES to the slipping wheels. Posi-track???? what are we driving here...Chevelles and Impalas???
