its a double unlock pulse, but it has to delay. you might get away with activating the double pulse unlock on your alarm, but not usually because it has to delay for 1 second. most dont delay that long. use of a timed relay and a capacitor will trick it, but i couldn't draw a diagram that would help you. (dont have that kinda time today)

anyway, the only other solution is to not go to the green wire for unlock and instead go to the green/yellow right above it in the harness and press the door unlock/disable button twice.

UPDATE The unlock works now. The clamp became a little loose off of it. Needless to say we fixed it so that won't be happening again

Time to mount the proximity sensor.. Do you know the best place to put it? I don't want it too out in the open as its a black box and rather ugly...

BTW My stock security system stopped working. I don't think its causing a problem right now but I'll test it out and see.

put your proxy sensor under the center console. remove the shift plate and stick it there behind the shifter. keeping it centered to the vehicle will allow it to radiate more evenly.

Oh gosh,

Proximity sensors are HORRIBLE. I cannot stand alarms that go off everyday, hour, minute. Onelasttry is right, the center of the car is the best. However, I would not mount it near the shifter because it heats up so much after 50-100 miles. That will weaken the sensor over time. under the seat maybe just as good.

We can't hook up the prox sensor now because the harness is not right so I'll have to go buy another one of those.. BUt teh rest is done remote start/turbo timer/alarm/ etc. This has been a long day Thanks for all the help though. I guess I'll put the prox under teh seat when I hook it up.

After putting it back together I realized the airbag light is on and the 3 and a couple dashes before and after it on the tach are not illuminated as well as the others. How did this happen and what can I do to fix it?

You guys kick ***!!

Tap the cluster gently, it may light back up again.

when mw is talking heat affecting sensors, yes that is correct, but not like by 50% or anything. moving the proxy to under the seat will completely screw up the radius and defeat the purpose, but it's your car. i'd rather have a proxy that works great for 3 years than one that does a half-** job for 5 yrs.

good luck on the alarm!

onelasttry,

You are the expert, however, in my experience from the first Alpine prox to the latest greatest 1million stage quadrasuperhydrophonicbionic sensors. I have never found one I liked and worked in my local area based on my experience with a couple hundred installs here and there each year. However, I do not even install the silly shock sensor on my car. My pet peeve are cars with lame alarms that constantly go off.

With that said, again that is only my opinion.

pcmw i haven't found any i love myself. if i had to pick a good one that isn't even that technical, i'd say i like the omega.

a super expensive one in a bad spot will be outperformed by a cheap one in a great spot. as with any microwave sensors, location, location, location.

i absolutely agree with your posts, just prefer the location based on the earlier paragraph above this one.

Is there any room under the elbow rest area? If not, I could always put it in the storage bin itself. I don't use it for anything in particular, cds are in the trunk, so I could put it in there and still ahve teh central location.

Any ideas on what tripped my airbag light?

Do you guys jsut have door and glass breaking sensors?
