Number of JDM Soarers in US??
Just curious...How many JDM Soarers are here in the US?? I've heard anywhere from 3 to 5 or more. I think there are at least 3 in CL. Any ideas?? Soarer owners, lets hear from you!

Real Soarer's Stateside
Here's the ones I have heard about:
1) Mine in Ohio
2) Dimcorners' in Florida
3) Dimcorner's buddy also has one in Florida
4) Baz in Texas
5) Motorsportwarehouse has one in Arizona
6) There is a guy in California also( having trouble legalizing)
7) J.K. Technologies,LLC in Baltimore, MD legalized one for someone but I don't know where it went.
Anyone else know of Stateside Soarer's that I missed?

Not impossible....just expen$ive. Most authorized importers will do it if you are willing to throw enough money at them. Just like importing a Skyline GTR...not impossible, it just costs way more than a modest size home.

From reading a post by London Bill, I understand that all 2.5TT models have blacked out trim, while all the other models have the chrome trim. All US models have chrome trim.

conforming soarer's
Like to know more about the soarer in california, who's tryin to legalise one?..Once a soarer is conformed wouldn't that set a president, being able to know what needs doing, and what doesn't need doing, surely this would bring the price down from qoutes of as much as $15.000.....
I'll say it again these r world cars, there can't be much differance to the sc400? do u really think the japs would re tool 4 this job.
The only main difference is dealer ships/red tape?
Come on motorsport wharehouse, wots your story????????????
Didn't someone conform the skyline in the us? maybe they'd know
What d'ya think guys, lets band together -get the price down.....
ANYONE KNOW ANY DECENT ICI'S?

I do know of a few people with Civics that will just bring the car in pieces and register it as a kit car. They get the title and everything and is even insured. One way is to cut the car, the other is to bring it in 2 shipments. The other with no suspension and no interior, just the body and engine. then bring in the suspension and all other stuff in another container.

yep the kit car option seems the best to me that is what a lot of my Super 7 buddies do and the goverment doesn't care. with a SC400 it will be harder (more complicated, the Super 7 construction is easier) but still can be done. bring a 2.5TT with no suspension or wheels and slap on some SC400 suspension and wheels ( or supra whatever u want ) and u r done.

What is "super 7"
My friend has a soarer 2.5 tt here in socal and still hasnt registered it. It is not that easy to just go and say it is a kit car and get a title. I have a right hand drive rx7 street legal. It is a 1979 model and that was a huge pain in the *** to get done. I have tried and tried all different ways to get the soarer registered and have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I heard I can get a crashed lexus with a salvaged title from an auction or junkyard. Cut the vins off of it. Take the vins, title, and right hand drive to the CHP to get verified. Say that the right hand drive is a custom car built from a japanese front clip and the rest of the car is the US car which the vins were on but had to be cut off with the crashed part of the car that we replaced with the front clip. Has anyone done this? I wish she could get this car on the road. She has actually bought a new is300 and the soarer is just sitting there. I think all that is left is to strip it or turn it into a showcar. What would happen if I drove it around with car dealer plates from my car dealership. I heard I could lose my license but havent looked into it. Thanks.
