the reason why they sell for so cheap is because of people are being cheap, if everyone paid higher they would hold there value higher.
soon we all we be driving $500 cars at this rate

:roll eyes:from these pic's the car looks new
the interior looks really clean (the brake handle) the carpet will come clean easy
the nose looks like it has no pebble hits, which tells me its been painted
if it has not been in an accident & painted <CarFax is no good>
do a Gas Monkey put $7,500 in $100's in his hand & run!
Good Luck

I couldn't see myself paying more then $5000-$6000 for a low mileage SC300/400 of any year
And I bet you'd rather pay $40k for a new Hyundai coupe than on a 2001 NSX? Maybe classic Japanese cars just aren't your thing.

I'd go for #1 also.
A clean interior shows how meticulous the previous owner is.

If you don't have a lot of choices to compare, it's going to be hard to say what is overpriced and isn't.

If you have 2 almost identical vehicles (condition, mileage, service history,...), then you can always get the less expensive one

Well said.(OLT) started an excellent thread on that.

I paid more for mine to get a good turn-key SC.

Found it:

Some one knows the value of an NSX

ive been driving Japanese cars since back when you were playing power rangers.

My point is that once you get into the higher cost bracket you can almost buy a newer "Japanese Classic" car.

Who here would spend $10 000 on an sc400 when you can pay $12000 and get an SC430?

Very few ...... very few indeed

Well, I consider the SC430 to be nothing short of hideous, so I would never spend $12,000 on one. Knowing how many common wear items there are on the SC400, I would be a bit nervous spending $10,000 on one in great condition, but I would gladly take that over your hypothetical SC430. A desirable car is more important than the mileage, as far as I'm concerned.

Just FYI: $10000 - $12000 will get you a E60 5 series models ranging from 04 - 07.
You'd have to be some kind of stupid to buy such old cars for anything more than $4000.

Lexus or not, these are anywhere from 15 - 23 years old and have been through thorough use.

I had the same type of situation for the passenger door as car # 2, but was unable to open it from the interior and exterior of the car. The fix was simple as the door actuator hinge simply came undone from the door handle.

Whoa, that's really clean. It just depends on how long your going to keep the car or plans on it.

I only used the sc430 as an example because of the thread were in, the sc430 in stock form is really nothing too head turning, but lets face it ,neither is the sc400.

The sc430 is faster, newer and a convertible, make of it what u wish.

I used to also hate on the sc430 and have a lot of pride for my SC400, but if you throw some wheels and a kit on the sc430's you got yourself a super car.

For the record guys I still respect and have a ton of love for the sc400/300's, even after I got my LS430 and sold both my SC400's im contemplating getting another one.

A few shots for reference though
