Look into the one in New York . The first one honestly doesn't look like a 7k car. For 7k it better have 3k in cash in the trunk . I bought mine for 2800 130k original 92 with gte headgaskets and arp head bolts. Focus more on the car and maintenance while reading up on turbo you can learn alot from here and people are friendly for the most part

Hey just did a quick search on the nj craigslist, Looks like there's a better condition 5 spd for sale. It's 5k and looks like the owner is a bit less sketchy.

http://newjersey.craigslist.org/cto/4517586789.html

or this one, a bit higher mileage, but it looks like the guy knows what he's talking about. It's been up for a while but might be worth checking out.

Take your time, keep high standards, if something seems sketchy it is (that's craigslist for you), and make sure you find the right car. The right car will come up for sale. Best of luck, hope to here that you end up joining the sc community.

The first is my least favorite. Remember, the mileage can be hacked and if the driver seat and pedals are shot, that could be a clue. If someone ignored the timing belt job, other things were ignored as well. I prefer all to the white one (possibly sketchy on mileage and maintenance). The turbo car would be tempting, but if you don't have experience with them, they can be a pain to daily. The guy with 2 of them seems like an enthusiast with skills to some degree. This is good. You can get VIN numbers perhaps and look up service history on Lexus.com. I don't remember having to prove ownership to do so. The longer they were serviced at Lexus, the better. They are ripoffs, but thorough. Read this thread about what it REALLY costs to own an SC.

Welcome to CL I was 17 when I got my SC for 800 bucks. I'm 23 now and I must say this is probably the only model car I would actually buy lol. I've learned heeps of information from interior ,exterior, swaps and all. Now all my boys drive SCs

What part of jersey are you from? ( I'm from Trenton) Between my friends and I we have a bunch of spare parts laying around

It's not the fuel that's the issue. It's the general condition of the car. The fuel used is just another reason to assume the owner did not take good care of the car

The one you most recently posted seems to be really clean even though its green(RJP) and not black. What concerns me is the driver side headlight. It was either in a front end collision or that headlight specifically was faulty. maybe moisture?
