Default y not redline

i was driving the sc4 today, and i put the power button on, and if i remember correctly its supposed to redline if its on. so i tried to c how high my rpms will go with the power on. and it shifts at 4300rpm...it will not redline or go any higher than 4500rpm. what could be the problem.

Were you pushing down on the throttle all the way(and actually trying to accelerate)? Thats the only way mien redlines with or without power.

You could try to cut overdrive off and power on like Hermosa said but I know in the 300 that as far as it will go, the computer regulates the shift and won't allow you to redline. Anybody can discover this by just putting it in 1st or 2nd and flooring it, when you reach the mark the computer won't allow for any redlining, just more of an overevving jerk. A luxury thing I guess.

hmm, sometimes my sc4 wont double downshift because you dont actually push the pedal all the way down(if you keep at it, there maybe an inch of play left). Usually is has to do with my trac getting in the way of my fun...., but with o/d off it easily redlines...., with it on well lets say i havent redlined it in o/d.
Try the car in 2nd like undefeatedsc3 said

On my SC400 with overdrive off and power ect on I can't redline but I can go up to 6500 when I want to. On the SC300 I have never taken a good look but I do know that I hit at least 6000 before. Now that I am truboed I will take a good look - when I get it back.

Default Suggestion

Is this at initial start up or after driving?
Also, how do you drive? If you leave it in PWR most of the time and floor it most of the time, the engine/tranny will "learn" this and give you higher revs.

Can we reset our ECU? I know we do this to the GS and it works. Basically the computer resets to 0 and it relearns again.

i reset the ecu, and im getting the same thing. the car never did that before. it use to shift at 6300/6400rpm if i floor it. it does this all the time now. if im driving and floor it..it will shift at around 4000rpm. if im at a stop light ....it does the same.

OKay drop the gear to "2" with the Power ECT and OD off and tell us if you can get there (6500RPM)

Having the ECT switch in NORM or PWR should make no difference at WOT (geez, all those acronyms) - the ecu should shift the tranny at 6250. Redline is 6500, rev limiter is 6600. (all of these are from memory, not the manual) - with the engine fully warmed up and the shifter in 2, and the gaspedal floored, you should get a 1-2 shift at 6250 and then bump up against the revlimiter at 6600 - or with the shifter in D, you should get the 2-3 shift again at 6250.

If the inability to get to redline isn't an ecu fault (any codes?) the engine isn't getting enough air (dirty air filter?) or fuel (fuel pump ecu not going to high voltage at WOT?) to run up - and the ecu will sense air starvation or low fuel pressure and limit the revs, I'm guessing.

OK, my brain's empty now
