Audio Jack question
Can someone tell me the easiest way to plug in a Bluetooth audio device in a 1993 SC 400? Is there an input jack somewhere that is accessible? The car has a Nakamichi stereo with the cassette player and with the 12 CD deck in the trunk.
Thanks!
Mike

The audio coming off the tape head is distorted enough. Add to that bluetooth compression and signal to noise degradation and you may not like what you hear at all. There is an easy (and a harder one) mod somewhere on this site that tells you how to add a 1/4 inch audio jack to the stock radio.

That cassette thing would still be the easiest, but I agree; audio quality might not be good. I'm still buying it out of curiosity though haha. I'll let you know how it sounds when I test it

PS: You are right about the DIY/Aftermarket I guess. There was a REALLY easy one on FB I thought I might try. Like 15 minutes easy. I'll post it if I find it.
Thanks

The ION bluetooth cassette adapter just arrived, and.....It's pretty cool for 30 bucks. No more wires for me.
Pairing the cassette is straight forward as it's just like pairing with any other bluetooth devices. Two cool features with this adapter is that you could you just leave the thing on off, and it'll turn itself on when it's inserted into the tape deck, and shut itself down when ejected. The other thing is it has a microphone.
Sound quality wise, I wasn't expecting much, but it did exceed my expectations. I was expecting it to sound worst then the wired ones, but at first, I couldn't tell the difference. When I set my phone to higher volumes, it actually sounds better (clearer sound) in comparison to my wired one.
Of course, this thing isn't replacing the CDs in my car, but It'll be useful when I want to listen to pandora or spotify.
Overall, not bad for 30 bucks. It''ll keep me happy until I get a GPS unit. Only complaints is that blue LED flashing could be annoying at night, and it didn't include a car charger. Only gave a micro usb cable
