can you bypass/jump power window switch?

Default can you bypass/jump power window switch?

Ok I have a 93 sc300 and I know the switch is good on the passenger side and the regulator is bad, but on the driver side i can't get it to move or make any noise at all, i can hear the switch click sometimes but the motor never moves, is there a way jump the switch at the harness or at the back of the switch to test the motor before i go and replace the switch and/or motor?

if you take the switch out you will see the wires behind it. I guess you could use a small jumper wire to connect 2 of them and see if it does anything. ther will probably be 3 wires, one power, one wire for up, and one wire for down. you want to connect the power on to any of the other 2 as a test.

Disconnect the harness from the switch.

All on one side of the connector is
pin # 4 -light blue wire (power)
pin # 10 -Red Wire (up) pin # 9 - green w/ yellow tracer (down) pin # 8 - white w/ black tracer (ground)

You need 2 jumper wires

To Roll Window Down
connect pin # 4 light blue wire to pin # 9 Green w/ yellow tracer then pin #10 red to pin # 8 white with black tracer
Turn the key to just before start, the window should roll down immediately.

To Roll Window Up
connect pin # 4 light blue wire to pin # 10 red then pin #9 Green w/ yellow tracer to pin # 8 white with black tracer

This is just for a quick check and I assume you know what you are doing with wiring. Make sure no loose wire strands are touching each other before turning the key.

I tested this on my own car and it works.

awesome thank you, yea i have jumped harnesses on other things just wasnt sure about which pins to jump, was going to try the diy regulator fix but couldnt get the window to move to check it and didnt want to replace the switch if it was the motor or vice versa.

ok so I tried jumping those and nothing happened? fuse is good, so I'm assuming i need a new window motor?

To be 100% sure you need to test for power at the window motor connector.
