Default Gas pedal vibration

Every now and then, I get a vibration in my gas pedal under accelleration. It does not seem to affect performance and does not happen all tghat often. It does not happen when I am travelling at a constant spped. Has anyone else had this problem or have any idea what it might be? I have a 92 sc400.

Have you noticed if it has done that around 40 M.P.H, because our cars have this phantom vibration, more like a shrudder when accelerating around 40mph.

what is causing the torque converter to lock up? from searches i thought that changing the tranny fluid would fix it, but it had no effect on it whatsoever.

Post TC lock-up???

I think I have that same problem, right around 1000rpm to 1500rpm I think at about 40mph. Does it feel like someone is kind of kicking the bottom of your seat, the car kinda pounds from the tranny. Sorry for the dumb explanation but that the best way I can say it.

it feels more like a subtle, low pitched vibration. kind of like im running over a bunch of small sticks on the road. with overdrive OFF i can feel it, but with overdrive ON its completely gone. it boggles the mind

For me, it happens when the overdrive is on or not.
It usually happens when I am pullings away from a stop, but sometimes when I accellerate in slow traffic.
Its got me stumped!!!

nbovelle, your problem sounds different from mine. i only get the vibration in power mode with overdrive off, and its only at 40-42 miles per hour (when accelerating or holding steady i get it). if yours is a rumble under open throttle (ie acceleration) im betting its your driveshaft

Post gas ped. vibration

Yes I have an 92sc 400 and it does the same thing ..... Ive had it for about 2yrs and I still don't know what causes it ... As some of the other post state It seems to happen around the 40-43mph and my explanation of how it feels is that it seems like it goes into overdrive and then as your still keeping a current speed or slow acceleration it seems to loose power for a second as if its downshifting back into drive or another poss. explanation is like the gas peddle seems to get a little harder to press and then a weird pause almost like a twilight zone or a flash back and I'm not talking about the Flash Back from your wild parting days ..maybe I should just call it a Hiccup and leave it at that

Sorry Iam not much help but maybe we can both get some info on this //////
also do you know anyone selling a resavor tank for radd. Iam in need of one
bad....
