Very nice, glad to see you did it right and changed the door trim, plus new headlamps, very clean, i'm also a big fan of Ren. Red '95 SC4's . And yes, the 3L2 Red over Blk combination is rare, most have Oak, and in the later years the only way to get a Black interior was to buy Silver or to buy Black (avail w/ Blk or Ivory int). As for a Black and Brown interior, only Roy Jones could get away with that....

Wow looks great! I usually hate red, but on your car, makes me think twice, that color looks awesome, very clean.

Just found this pic and thought I would post it for reference... This is the way the car looked before. Sorry for the crappy quality as I did not have the new cam yet.

This pic reminds me... for those who are going to do this, remember that on the 97+ models the SC400/300 badge was moved to right side of the deck lid. On earlier models it was centered on the bumper, between the tail lamps and was held in place with posts/glue. The newer badge is two pieces and sticks on with it's own included sticky tape... be careful, once it is on, that is it. It will not come off easily.

Actually I no longer have many of the original parts... Most have been sold. I do still have the passenger side headlight and both original fog lights.

The headlight is in good used condition. Externally it is shiny but it needs to be opened up and cleaned out on the inside to get rid of the slight haze these lights develope over the years. No cracks or anything major. The foglights are both in good condition, no cracks either... but they are somewhat pitted if viewed up close, as would be expected. From standing distance, they are very clean.

If interested, let me know. Thanks...

very nice

one question though,

ive always read about people having a problem with the taillight indicator switching from 95/96 lights to the 97/00 lights. are you experiancing this? id like to change the taillights but if worst comes to worst, ill kill the bulb that lights the taillight indicator

Yea the tail light failure indicator was the only real issue with this upgrade.

My dad is an electronics tech so I had him open up the failure indicator box and sure enough, it is a series of resistors that can most likely be exchanged for the different values required for whichever tail light is used.

We were able to replace the resistors for the running lights, so the warning light stayed off but as soon as you hit the brakes, the light came on and stayed on.

There is a mathmatical forumla for figuring out the resistance, however it did not seem to apply to the brakes... something else in the circuit may need to be addressed. We ran out of time so I just disconnected the resistor that runs to the warning lamp and everything runs fine... but that is not the fix.

I posted a request a while back for someone who has a '97+ to open up the box and post the color codes on the resistors, but there was never a reply.

BTW... The '97+ has 1 less running light and 1 less brake light thant the '95... Also, if you order the tail lamp assembly from Lexus, it comes with the wiring and lamps already installed. It just physically plugs right into the harness the old tail lamp did. You do not have to splice any wires or anything crazy like that.
