Hood and Lid Supports
Hello Fellow Lexusians,
Yea I made that word up. LOL Anyhoo, I have a 95 SC400 and the hood and deck lid lifts/supports need to be replaced. I don't wanna spend $100 or more on each one. That's $400 for supports, yikes! I also don't wanna have to replace them in a year either. Anyone have a good recommendation for some supports with a good quality to cost balance? Any suggestions with actual part numbers would be tremendously appreciated. I've had really good results with Suspa on my Tacoma camper shell, but I can't find a vehicle reference guide on the Suspa site. Anyone know the Suspa part numbers I need?
Thanx to any and all who respond!

I ended up getting StrongArm for my trunk. They were supposed to be ~$60 each, but the guy told me $60 for the pair. So he ended up giving them to me for that price. Honestly, you can buy replacement shocks anywhere, just shop around (online, auto parts stores, etc) until you find a price you like.

Thanx for the responses folks. I did look at the Strongarm brand and after researching reviews and warranty info I felt they were at the bottom of the quality tree. They say they have a limited lifetime warranty, but are only actually warrantied for six months. After six months they are prorated at .50 deduction per month and you have to send in a $8 check or money order to pay for the return shipping. No thank you to Strongarm The warranty on both the Monroe and Stabilus is free replacement with free shipping for five years. I went with Monroe for the hood, part number 901743. They have very good reviews and are $40 for the pair on Rock Auto. Stabilus or Suspa don't have the hood lift supports and have to be custom made for $100. Dealer price is $110. I went with Stabilus for the deck lid, part number SG429001. Same story with Suspa, have to be custom made for $100. The overwhelming consensus is Stabilus is the best when it comes to hood and deck lid supports. Suspa seems to be more focused on window supports. Got the Stabilus on closeout from Rock Auto for $45 and had to be shipped from two different warehouses. Again thanx for the replies and I hope this info helps out any future lift support shoppers.
