Default My new 95 5spd 300

Hey guys, i got rearended in my sc400 with 108k and saw a good deal for this sc300 5spd with 68k miles, so i got it. Anyways, i have a few things to work out with it.

Every time the car is turned off, the clock and the trip meter are reset, where is the battery that retains the info? How do i replace it?

When i turn the light switch one click for the parking lights, the dash dimms, the taillights come on, but the front parking lights and the sidemarkers dont come on. Is this a fuse, and if so, where is it located bc there is no cover to my fusepanel inside.

Also, my ABS light is on, the guy i bought it from said it came on just a week ago when there was a sleet storm and he locked em up and the light came on. How can i reset this?

Also out of nowhere, the check engine light will come on for like 5 seconds at a time, mabe 2-3 times an hour, O2 sensor?

Thanks, ill post some pics when i swap my rims, rotors, system, etc. Its really pretty though, black on black leather

The battery is THE BATTERY, you may have someone tampering with the odometer and messed up the reset function.

It sounds like there is a short in the line. Check the sockets, bulbs, and wires for your lights.

Have the computer code retrieved. This could be expensive also. Maybe you should have had a mechanic look at the car before you bought it.

Rims will fit, ROTORS WILL NOT. SC400's have different Rotors than a 95 SC300.

Sounds good. You may want to get the ABS issue resolved before you swap the calipers. The mechanic may blame you for complicating the issue.

MW, i was thinking that mabe when the ignition is turned off, instead of retaining the trip/clock readings, it is cutting the battery completly because it doesnt retain the memory seats either. But, the memory radio stations stay. This is gonna be a tuff one, but im going to try and figure it out.

Also, i pulled the where the ABS 1 fuse goes, it is a 60amp fuse, but it isnt the type that you can just plug in, you have to screw a bolt on either side of it. There is a red wire on one side, but the other side has nothing there, i was wondering if you could take a look at yours for me and see what color wire is supposed to be on the other side.

You shouldn't have to worry about the ABS light, take it back to the dealer and force them to fix it at their expense. I was about ready to wire a down payment for that car about a month ago when it was first on Ebay, but they pulled it off because of the ABS light (so yes, what I am saying is that they lied to you about it being a week ago). They said that they couldn't sell it until after they had all of the issues resolved...sounds like they didn't do that. Just my two cents however. I ended up forgetting about it after I found one pretty much identical (95 black on black 5 speed) here in AZ with only 24k miles. Saved me the trip to TX!

I wouldn't say there are a lot, but there are definately plenty of them here. I usually see one or two a day (which sounds like a lot til ya figure I probably see 10-12 C5 vettes a day at least), but they are almost always the SC400's, I almost never see 300's. Course, I would have been driving a 400 too if I hadn't found a nice 5 speed 300!
