I just drove 2 years ago, so my insurance is still high. But I started a quote (on both ES and SC)a year ago, so no discount yet.

Oh, so you're 18? I'm only 21 (soon to be 22), so I don't have any discounts either, but it still seems like you're paying waaayy too much. You should shop around some. A buddy of mine was telling me about USAA; he said he only pays $1000 A YEAR on his Z3 BMW.... food for thought.

Well, I have to vote differently now from my first vote. I am well over 2K now
I do most of all my own labor though too, maybe I need to throw in a cost for that too

70k+ here...
14k in paint alone. Car was completely dissambled and acid dipped. 2003 crystal pearl white. Has a silver flake instead of gold. I think the paint code was 064.
30k+ in engine parts. Luckily I did all of the labor myself, besides machine work of course.
15k in drivetrain(new oem 6-speed with Tilton, CF driveshaft, JDM tt auto lsd, axels)
3k in suspension, bushes ect...
5k in the PC/setreo/nav/touchscreen system, leather (all Black)
and various other things I cannot think of right now.
Clicky

How did this happen!?

To be honest i'm hoping she'll put out more than that on low boost, we produced similar hp with the '63 and the VVT-i working....is that an early, conservative tune Ethan? I'm hoping to see you complete it before the first day of spring.

That is a pretty conservative tune (tuned to be able to run on 91 octane at that boost level), but the main thing is that it is going through a massive stall.. When you made similar on the 63 it was a stock converter.. If we did that same pull on a stock converter it would have been closer to 550-575rwhp, but the 4800 stall eats up a LOT of power.

I am only hoping to make 700-750 RWHP at 30 psi, but with the loose converter and the trans brake I am hoping it will be enough to go 9.9x on a good pass.

Does the amount of money reflect things bought just for sheer enjoyment, or does it include nessesary maintainance as well?

I think i should include every little bit of money you spent on your car, with the exception of the car's purchase amount, regular maintenance, and gasoline.
