$600 on Ferrari style leather seats.
$1300 on fixing it up...not gonna mod it. Better way to spend money.
BTW, I like your sig autoboy.

I'm at Zero now, but I can see myself hitting the $5K mark within a few months.

Damn, this thread keeps surfacing again and again...Like ScottURNot said...Painful...I do not even want to think about it. Just what I have spent in the last 6 months to get this car completed and ready for the SBN, and a feature in a major magazine...ridiculous! Not again. But I know I will enjoy it when it is done.

I have to hold the crown for most money dumped into a stock sc. the parts and labor to get the motor built was 5k..give or take, the only 20 year old parts left are the body and transmission

I'm at 14k right now just in my 5 speed swap, and my performance. Sad thing is my sc looks stock on the exterior and interior until I pop the hood lol

I put in around $5,500 into my SC and originally bought the car for $4, 700. I sold about $1,000 worth of parts before I sold the car to my parents for $9, 000. I got what I put in back and kept a lot of stuff over for LS and Supra build. The great thing about it is the SC is parked in my garage and I still drive it around.

Had I not bought the LS I would've dropped a lot more money into it.

i keep a spreadsheet of everything i have purchased for my car along with folders of receipts, mostly for insurance purposes, but also so i know exactly how much i have spent. im sort of surprised others havent done that.
i have been asked quite a few times why didnt you just buy this or that car - those people wont understand until they have put countless hours and dollars into their own custom car

I have so many parts that I don't even use, just laying in my garage collecting dust, money spend and for trial and error.
Wheels and tires 1800 and counting
Shocks, struts Coilovers, sleeves 1800
Sound system 500
Steering wheel 200k
Exhaust 200
Ls 400 bbk 200+ another 350 for overall maintenance
In between I spend another 2000 just in tools for the ride
Welder, chop saw, engine hoist, stand, and bunch of air and power tools
Collecting 5speed parts right now about 500 into it

Does tools even count?
Might as well berry me in it sht
I try not to count

bought it for $4100 with 190,000+miles in 2010 (mistake #1, i did zero research and thought it was worth a lot because of the lexus name)
ecu problems - $800
stock lower mileage motor swap - $2800
exhaust $1200
coilovers - $1000
brakes - $500
wheels w/ tires - $1100
3/4 black interior - $800
radio - $1000
oem side skirts and rideskinz rear lip - $650 + paint

so $13,950... in the back of my head i should've kept my s13 and the extra $9850 that i've spent i would have a pretty BA s-chassis car. with the SC not so much. its stock with coilovers wheels and an exhaust and horrible previous owner maintenance which has been biting me in the ****.

EDIT: this is without the 6 speed trans im putting in. just got the z33 trans modified for $450. But like always with my car, right after i got the trans done signs of bad front lca and a CEL for air/temp. JOY! another 1k+ spent on none performace fun.

Unhappy

i bought my car for $3,400 and already put in $2,600 in for repaint and coilovers.

I just calculated how much everything is going to cost that i want done, including suspension, turbo kit, wheels, tires, and maintenance and its going to cost about another $10,000 give or take.
